Did You Feel It? Earthquake Hits Northern California

A minor earthquake was reported off the coast of Eureka Saturday afternoon.

EUREKA, CA — A preliminary 4.8 magnitude earthquake was reported off the coast of Northern California Saturday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake’s epicenter was estimated to be about 33 miles southwest of Eureka and 1.5 miles under the surface.

No damage or injuries were reported. The National Weather Service said there was no tsunami warning resulting from the earthquake.
