Driver Arrested After Pedestrian Killed In SF Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
The crash happened on Monday afternoon along Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue, police said.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run crash in San Francisco on Monday afternoon that left a pedestrian dead, police said.
Police say San Francisco resident Valantino Cash Amil was driving in the area of Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue around 3:23 p.m. when he crashed into a pedestrian.
Amil continued driving, getting on and off a freeway before San Francisco Sheriff’s deputies pulled him over in the area of Portero Avenue and 18th Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

The pedestrian, meanwhile, died at the scene, police said. Their identity was not immediately revealed.
Amil was taken into custody on suspicion of homicide and vehicle hit and run with injury, police said. San Francisco detectives are investigating the crash, police added.
