Driver Flees Crash That Injures 4 Kids, Teens

The victims ages range from 11 to 19, police say.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The driver of a vehicle fled after crashing into a fire hydrant in San Francisco's Bayview District early Thursday morning, injuring four passengers in the car, police said.

The crash was reported at 1:13 a.m. at Third Street and Carroll Avenue, injuring three girls ages 11, 14 and 17 and a 19-year-old man, according to police.

One of the victim's injuries involved broken bones, while the others' were more minor. All are expected to survive, police said.

The driver was gone when police arrived and the passengers did not cooperate with officers investigating the crash.
