Earthquake Hits Just Outside Of San Francisco

Here's what the U.S. Geological Survey has to say about the earthquake.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude reading of 3.4 was felt in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The epicenter was just off the coast of San Francisco, in the Gulf of the Farallones, according to the United States Geological Survey Shake Map. It was recorded at 1:32 p.m.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries.

The earthquake was west of the San Francisco Zoo. In the first 15 minutes after the quake, most responses came from that localized area. Residents of San Francisco, South San Francisco, Daly City, San Bruno, Brisbane, Pacifica, Redwood City and Sunnyvale all took the time to report their experience to the USGS.

People to the north and east also report feeling the ground shake.
