Earthquake Shakes Off Coast Of Northern California

The small quake was reported Sunday morning. Did you feel it?

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A small earthquake shook off the coast of Northern California Sunday morning.

The 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 7:09 a.m. about 46 miles west-northwest of Petrolia, an unincorporated community in Humboldt County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was more than 6 miles deep.

Residents reported feeling the quake in Crescent City, Eureka, Garberville and Martinez, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.

A 2.7 magnitude quake was later reported at 7:41 a.m. in the same area, according to the USGS.

There were no reports of damage or injuries in connection with the quakes.
