Fast Food Chain Closes Last Restaurant, Located In This CA Airport

The airport location will be replaced by The Melt, which is aiming to open in May.

SAN FRANCISCO — Vegetarian fast-food chain Amy’s Drive Thru closed its last location, at San Francisco International Airport Terminal 1, in March, according to reports.

The closure on March 25 came just weeks after the chain shuttered its Rohnert Park restaurant, KRON reported, adding the airport location will be replaced by The Melt, which is aiming to open in May.

“After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close this location, effective March 25, and concentrate on the areas of our business where we can have the greatest long-term impact,” Amy’s Kitchen President Paul Schiefer said in a statement published by KRON.

“As a family-owned company, that means prioritizing our core retail offerings, where we serve millions of households each year through our frozen and packaged meals.”

Terminal 1 has recently added several new restaurants, including Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, Equator Coffees, Perry’s and more, SFGate reported.
