FIDF Appoints Amarelle Green to SF Bay Area Executive Director

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) today announced the appointment of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) veteran Amarelle Green, formerly FIDF Director of Silicon Valley, to Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Area Region.

Green joined FIDF in 2019 and, after the Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Area resigned in January 2020, she began managing the region’s fundraising activities and board relationships. Under Green’s leadership, the FIDF San Francisco Bay Area Region has raised over $2.3M in 2020 so far, appealing to lapsed donors and engaging new ones.

“Amarelle did not have anyone locally to provide training and guidance. To make it even more challenging, she has had to work under the physical and emotional circumstances of the pandemic,” said FIDF National Board Member and Bay Area local Board Member Ricki Alon. “Taking this all into consideration and seeing the results in both fundraising and donor relationships, Amarelle has earned this position.”

Previously, Green served as Silicon Valley Director of for the American Friends of Tel Aviv University. Before that, she held positions as a senior corporate attorney with the leading Silicon Valley firm, Fenwick & West LLP., and the largest law firm in Israel, MEITAR. Green served as General Counsel of eWave Group and Senior Legal Counsel of Clal Finance. In the Israeli Air Force, Green rose to the position of sergeant, serving as operations coordinator of an F-16 combat squadron and handling highly sensitive security tasks. She studied at the Academic College of Law in Ramat Gan and completed her law degree at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.
