Firefighters Respond To Medical Emergency Involving Injured Surfer

The surfer was hurt in a fall from their board and was assisted to shore by others, officials said.

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco firefighters responding to a medical emergency aided a surfer who was injured at Ocean Beach on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The surfer was hurt in a fall from their board and were assisted to shore by others, Capt. Jonathan Baxter said.

The surfer was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The rescue occurred on the northern section of the beach across from Cabrillo Street.
