Fog Delayed SFO Flights Much of the Day

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Delays on short and medium-distance flights from San Francisco International Airport averaged 45 minute delays this morning because of low clouds and fog, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.

Transcontinental and international flights were not impacted.

Delays occur when there's fog at the airport because of the airport's design, which allows fewer planes to take off during foggy weather.
