ICE Officer Forgets Gun Inside SFO Airport Restroom: Officials

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A flight attendant found an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent's gun inside the restroom at San Francisco International Airport last month, officials said.

It's unclear why ICE was at SFO that day. The agency did not respond to a request for comment from Patch.

The flight attendant found the unattended gun in the men's bathroom stall past the security checkpoint in Terminal 2 on July 21, according to an NBC report.

The flight attendant alerted the security checkpoint staff about the gun, and the restroom was closed off to the public, San Francisco International Airport spokesperson Doug Yakel told Patch.

Security called police, who quickly responded to the airport, officials said. The ICE officer eventually returned to the scene and retrieved the gun, Yakel said.
