Man With Dagger Arrested At BART Station: Police
Police are attempting to cut down on crime at San Francisco BART Stations.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police in San Francisco arrested a man Saturday night for allegedly possessing narcotics and a dagger at a BART station, police said.
At 8:44 p.m., two officers were checking the Civic Center BART station stairwell at 8th and Market streets due to high drug activity in the area.
At the station the officers spotted a male suspect holding a plastic sandwich bag. The suspect took off running when he saw the officers.

The officers chased after him and eventually located him nearby allegedly trying to change his clothes. The suspect was allegedly attempting to swallow individually packaged cocaine and heroin, police said.
After the suspect was taken into custody, the officers found a knife concealed in his waistband, police said.

The suspect was booked into the San Francisco County Jail.
