Man Dies Of Injuries From Hit-And-Run Crash

The man was hit by a car in the Richmond District.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man has now died from his injuries after a vehicle struck him as he crossed a street in San Francisco's Richmond District earlier this month.

The victim, who has been identified as 54-year-old Ronald Albanesius, died on Thursday, according to the city's medical examiner's office.

On Aug. 4, Albanesius was crossing the street at Geary Boulevard and Second Avenue around 1:20 a.m. when a green four-door sedan hit him, police said.

The suspect vehicle left the scene, heading east on Geary Boulevard before turning south onto Arguello Boulevard, according to police.

Albanesius was taken to the hospital for his life-threatening injuries.

Tuesday, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan confirmed no arrests have been made in the case and it remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is encouraged to call the Police Department's tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the beginning of the message. Tipsters have the option of remaining anonymous.
