Power Outages Gradually Repaired In San Francisco

More than 17,000 customers were without power earlier. That number has been cut by three-fourths.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco was hit by three massive power outages Wednesday afternoon. More than 17,000 customers were without power

at the height of the problem.

Pacific Gas & Electric reports that in the major outages, the power went out shortly before 3 p.m. PG&E expected the power to be restored between 5:45 and 6 p.m.

However, by 5:15, the majority of customers had been restored to full service, leaving a swath of about 3,500 without electricity.

The company has not reported the source of the problem.
