Mayor Swears In New Member Of SFMTA Board Of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Mayor London Breed on Wednesday swore in Lydia So as a new member of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors.

So, a former Historic Preservation Commissioner, was sworn in at the Central Subway Chinatown Rose Pak station, Breed's office said in a news release.

"Public transit connects people to their community. I am honored to have Mayor Breed's trust to take on this leadership opportunity to improve the public transit system in San Francisco, especially during a time this city is recovering from the pandemic," So said in a statement.
According to the mayor's office, So was appointed to the Arts Commission in 2017 by the late Mayor Ed Lee.

The new SFMTA board director also founded her own architecture firm in 2015. Before that, she managed the Apple retail real estate team in North America, Breed's office said.
