Musical Pioneer Todd Rundgren Is Coming To SF For 'Damned If I Do' Tour

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Todd Rundgren, who has wowed crowds for decades as a member of Nazz and Utopia, is coming to San Francisco as part of a new world tour.

Rundgren started his "Damned If I Do" tour in June with a performance in Illinois. He'll head to Europe in September before returning to the United States for the final leg of his tour.

That final leg will kick off with a show at San Francisco's Castro Theater on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

It's unclear what exactly Rundgren's setlist will include, but according to a press release from the artist, there will be "plenty of fan favorites.

"It’s always a challenge for me because my audience is so diverse, I never know what they’re in the mood for," said in a statement about performing. "I want to make sure we have all the musical ammunition we need to satisfy the spectrum."

Rundgren will also perform in Santa Cruz and Sacramento on Oct. 22 and Oct. 24, respectively.

Rundgren's band for the tour includes keys player Gil Assayas, guitarist Bruce McDaniel, Drummer Prairie Prince, horns player Bobby Strickland and bassist Kasim Sulton.

Rundgren was born and raised in Philadelphia. He came onto the scene in the 60s with the psychedelic group The Nazz.

He left the band in 1969 and went on to debut with the melodic and experimental "Runt." Rundgren later went on to form Utopia in the 70s.
