One Highway To Tahoe Remains Closed
Caltrans continues to clear deep snow, downed trees and downed power lines that have blocked the road since the weekend.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —Caltrans reopened one of the two routes from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe late Monday.
U.S. Highway 50 is now open, after having been closed Sunday afternoon in both directions between Placerville and Meyers due to heavy snow.
Chains are still required on the roadway for all vehicles, except for four-wheel-drive vehicles that have snow tires on all four wheels.

Interstate Highway 80 remains closed in both directions from Colfax to the Nevada state line, due to heavy snow, downed power lines and downed trees.
Caltrans had no estimate when the road will reopen.

Further west on Interstate 80, eastbound big-rig trucks are being turned around at exit 128 in Applegate due to downed power lines and downed trees between there and Colfax.
