Pair Arrested In Connection With Fatal Muni Bus Shooting In August

Both were booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of homicide and attempted homicide.

SAN FRANCISCO — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on a Muni bus in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley neighborhood in August, police said Tuesday.

The shooting was reported around 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 3 in the area of Velasco Avenue and Santos Street, where officers arrived to find a 20-year-old man, who succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Investigators later learned a 62-year-old woman had also been injured in the shooting, though her wounds were not life-threatening, police said.

San Francisco police eventually identified Ilasa Faalogoifo, 23, and Jasmine Taaga, 21, as suspects in the shooting and learned from Daly City police that the pair were at a hotel in their city.

On the morning of Nov. 18, officers arrested both Faalogoifo and Taaga at the hotel in the 2900 block of Geneva Avenue in Daly City, police said. Both were booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of homicide and attempted homicide.

The name of the 20-year-old who died was not available as of Tuesday afternoon from the city's Medical Examiner's Office.
