Person Posing As ICE Tries To Visit David DePape In Jail: Report

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – On Halloween, an unidentified person pretending to be a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent attempted to visit accused Paul Pelosi attacker David DePape in jail, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office told KRON4 Thursday.

Officials at the San Francisco County Jail denied the unidentified person access, according to the outlet.

ICE has submitted an immigration detainer on DePape, who is Canadian, which means he could be deported.

As previously reported by Patch, 42-year-old DePape, who is accused of attacking 82-year-old Paul Pelosi on October 28, made his first public appearance since the incident on November 1, when he attended a court hearing with his lawyer, who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

DePape is accused of attacking Pelosi with a hammer after breaking into the home he shares with Speaker Nancy Pelosi. DePape admitted to authorities that he wanted to break Nancy Pelosi's kneecaps to show other lawmakers there were "consequences to their actions," according to the Department of Justice.
