SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wraps, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
Get out those umbrellas because the National Weather Service is predicting rain all week across the Bay Area. Rain is expected to move into the area Monday afternoon, and the stormy weather is expected to remain until Sunday.
The National Weather Service warned of an "impactful storm system" brewing that looks to be the first "higher-end rain event" of the season, which may offer a preview of a wet El Niño winter to come. Temperatures will remain cool all week as well with highs in the mid 60s and lows 70s from San Francisco to Livermore and Palo Alto.

The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit is happening in San Francisco this week, and on Sunday, thousands of protesters gathered downtown to kick off the start of the summit, where leaders like Joe Biden and Xi Jinping will discuss trade in the Pacific region. No major incidents were reported, though organizers tried hard to prevent protesters from getting too close to police. More protests are planned this week, as are major roadway closures, including lanes on both sides of the Bay Bridge.
In other news, the off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot who disrupted a flight from San Francisco to Seattle told The New York Times he thought he was dreaming when he attempted to shut off the plane’s engines. Prosecutors allege he was high on magic mushrooms during the incident.
