President Joe Biden Arrives For APEC Summit
The president was greeted by Gov. Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Mayor London Breed and others
SAN FRANCISCO — President Joe Biden arrived in the Bay Area on Tuesday afternoon ahead of planned meetings with other heads of state at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in San Francisco.
Biden landed at San Francisco International Airport and got off Air Force One shortly before 1:30 p.m. to be greeted by Gov. Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Mayor London Breed and others, according to pool media reports.
As Biden left SFO, more than 2,000 protesters lined the road with a mix of pro- and anti-China signs, according to the pool reports.

The president and Vice President Kamala Harris are attending a campaign fundraiser event in San Francisco later Tuesday evening.
Biden on Wednesday will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and on Thursday will deliver remarks at the APEC CEO Summit, among other planned activities at the conference being attended by 21 heads of state from around the world, White House officials said.

On Friday, Biden will hold a bilateral meeting with Mexican President Andrews Manuel Lopez Obrador among other APEC-related events before departing from the Bay Area later in the day, according to the White House.
