Public Works Continues To Hand Out Sandbags To Prepare For Floods

Crews are handing out 10 sandbags per household at the yard at Marin and Kansas streets from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily this week.

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Public Works crews will hand out sandbags at their operations yard every day this week to prepare residents in the event of a flood.

Starting Monday, Jan. 9, crews are handing out 10 sandbags per household at the yard at Marin and Kansas streets from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sandbags are meant for people who have previously experienced flooding on their properties in the past, though they are available for all residents and business owners.

Crews have handed out over 15,000 sandbags since the storm series, a public works spokesperson said.
