DALY CITY, CA — A runaway Muni bus crashed in Daly City Thursday, injuring at least one, according to multiple reports. Passengers were recorded jumping off the bus before it crashed near the intersection of Mission and Flournoy streets just before 4 p.m. SKY7 video shows the bus over the curb, with several street signs knocked over.
“I saw that the bus doors were open and I saw that people were starting to jump out of the bus. So, I jumped too,” passenger Nelson Ramirez told NBC Bay Area.
"I thought somebody was driving the bus, but when everyone started screaming ‘Get off the bus! Get off the bus!’ There were about six people who jumped off," passenger Anne Kenney told KTVU.
Video footage shows the driver and a person with a walker emerging following the crash.
Ramirez said he went to the hospital and x-rays showed a sprained wrist. The San Francisco Fire Department told NBC Bay Area that at least one other person was taken to the hospital.
