San Francisco Bank Robberies: Man Arrested
Police say he is accused of three bank robberies in one day — two in SF and one in Marin County.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man suspected of robbing banks in Novato and San Francisco was arrested on Jan. 4 after several police departments collaborated on the case, the Novato Police Department announced on Tuesday.
Tracey Drew Jr., 36, is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo in Novato and then two more banks in San Francisco on the same day.
On Jan. 3, a man entered the Wells Fargo on Nave Drive in Novato, presented the teller with a note, and then made off with cash, Novato Police said. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled, but he was described as a Black man around 40 years of age, between six and six feet three inches tall, with possible stitches or staples in the back of his head.

Novato Police used surveillance footage to capture an image of the suspect, which they distributed to police departments all over the state.
Later that day, detectives from the SF Police Department said that a man matching the Novato suspect's description appeared to be the same person that had robbed two banks in the city that same day.

Novato detectives were contacted by police in Sacramento on Jan. 4 who said that a man wanted in their jurisdiction for violent felonies, Tracey Drew Jr., appeared to be the man in the pictures.
SF Police soon arrested Drew that same day for allegedly attempting to rob another bank.
Novato Police extended their gratitude to the other police departments as well as witnesses in the cases that contributed to Drew's eventual arrest.
