San Francisco Companies Among Most Admired In 2020: Fortune

Four San Francisco companies make Fortune's list in 2020.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The business magazine Fortune has released its annual list of the most admired companies in the world.

Apple took the top spot on the list for the second year in a row, with Amazon and Microsoft rounding out the top three.

San Francisco has four of the most admired companies in the world for 2020: Salesforce, Visa, Charles Schwab, and Levi Straus.

To be considered for the list, a company has to either be one of the 1,000 largest in the United States by revenue, or a company based outside the United States in Fortune’s Global 500 database that has a revenue of $10 billion or more.

This assortment of companies was subsequently narrowed down to include the 680 highest-revenue companies in each industry, such as computer software, entertainment and real estate.

The overall rankings were then compiled by Forbes in partnership with the management consulting company Korn Ferry by surveying executives, directors and analysts in their own industry.
