San Francisco FIDF Appoints Israeli Army Veteran Amarelle Green

SAN FRANCISCO , Sept. 12 -- Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) today announced the appointment of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) veteran Amarelle Green to the position of director of development, Silicon Valley.

This is a newly-created position reflecting FIDF’s growth and expansion in the San Francisco Bay Area. With more than 6,000 community supporters, FIDF’s Western Region last year launched a second gala fundraising dinner in the Silicon Valley to complement its San Francisco gala. Each gala is projected to raise $1 million this November.

“FIDF is pleased and honored to welcome Amarelle Green. She embodies and embraces our mission to thank, support, and inspire Israel’s young soldiers and will bring our vital cause to even more people in our region,” said FIDF SF Bay Area Executive Director Jonathan Bernstein .

Previously, Green served as Silicon Valley Director of Business Development for the American Friends of Tel Aviv University. Before that, she held positions with leading Silicon Valley and Israeli law firms, serving as General Counsel of eWave Group and Senior Legal Counsel and Secretary of Clal Finance. In the Israeli Air Force, Green rose to the position of sergeant, serving as operations coordinator of an F-16 combat squadron and handling highly sensitive security tasks. She studied at the Academic College of Law in Ramat Gan, and completed her law degree at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.

The FIDF San Francisco gala and FIDF Silicon Valley gala, with the theme “A Night of Heroes,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Intercontinental San Francisco, and at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Hotel Nia, Menlo Park, respectively.
