San Francisco Named 2nd Best City For Baby Boomer Entrepreneurs

Lending Tree compiled a study analyzing the best cities for American entrepreneurs born between 1946 and 1964.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A study released Tuesday by lending company, Lending Tree, found San Francisco is the second best city for baby boomer entrepreneurs behind San Jose. To determine the best American cities for those born between 1946 and 1964, the company considered the average median business incomes and used the percentage of new businesses that were founded by baby boomers.

Lending Tree analysts found that San Francisco has "a score of 86.5, thanks to remarkable earnings potential, relative to the other metros on our list (it also came in first on our best places for women entrepreneurs), indicating that boomers are sharing in the general prosperity of self-employed entrepreneurs there."

"San Francisco also has a large share of entrepreneurial boomers. One in every five new business founders are people born between 1946 and 1964," the study stated.
