San Francisco Sues Government Over Trump Sanctuary Cities Executive Order
BREAKING: San Francisco has filed a lawsuit over the executive order withholding federal money to sanctuary cities.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco has become the first city to sue the federal government over President Donald Trump's executive order to withhold federal money from sanctuary cities, Mayor Ed Lee announced on his Twitter account. The city announced its action during a news conference Tuesday morning.
City Attorney Dennis Herrera said, “The president’s executive order is not only unconstitutional, it is un-American. That’s why we must stand up and oppose it.”
Herrera spelled out the city’s complaint, saying it interfered with the constitutional rights of state and local governments to make decisions in the best interests of residents, and it challenges a statute that the city contends is unconstitutional.
