Señor Sisig Brings Filipino-Mex-Fusion Eats To SF Ferry Building
This San Francisco locale will feature an exclusive Humphry Slocombe "Churron" ice cream, along with pork tortas & churros from Acme Bread.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA —Señor Sisig, a Filipino-Mexican-fusion restaurant, is expanding with a third location opening Wednesday at San Francisco’s Ferry Building Marketplace.
Launched as a food truck by two friends in 2010, Señor Sisig also operates locales on Valencia Street in San Francisco's Mission District and on Webster Street in Oakland.
Among its menu stand-outs: the "Tosilog Burrito," Filipino sweet pork, adobo garlic rice, tomatoes and a fried egg; tacos and burritos; salads; and vegan options with tofu, plus plant-based cheeses, sour cream and sauces, according to the company. All entrees' "hot" levels range from non-spicy to "hella spicy."

Sisig also plans a few exclusives for the Ferry Building eatery:
- vegan "chicken" option from Oakland’s Layonna Vegetarian;
- curated cocktail menu with Filipino and Mexican flavors;
- collaboration with neighboring Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream for a "Churron" flavor, with Turon, a Filipino sweet snack, and churro chunks;
- a partnership with Acme Bread for pork tortas and churros.
Owners said they also hope to revive their partnership with "empanada king" Joseph Ahearne of El Porteño, also at the Ferry Building.

Señor Sisig founders, high school friends chef Gil Payumo and Evan Kidera, a master's graduate from San Francisco State University, now run a fleet of four food trucks, along with the brick & mortar locations — a business rooted in their cultural upbringings.
The new SF Señor Sisig is near Hog Island Oyster Co., at the back plaza side at 1 Ferry Building. The 40-seat restaurant features art from local artists and an outdoor patio with bay views, management said.
Hours are Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
