SF Carjacking Suspect Dies In Officer-Involved Shooting

The incident was captured on an officer's body worn camera and will be discussed an an upcoming town hall meeting.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A carjacking that led to an officer-involved shooting left one dead in San Francisco. The incident was captured on an officer's body worn camera.

The suspect was reportedly wielding a knife while attempting to break into a vehicle just before 11:30 a.m. in the area of Market Street and Gough Street. Officers located and chased the suspect to Otis Street, where they attempted to detain the suspect.

Shots were fired, the suspect was struck and was pro bounced dead at the scene after officers attempted to medically revive the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released.

This case is being investigated by several city law enforcement and legal agencies, and a town hall meeting will be held within ten days to address the shooting.
