SF Drug Dealer Sentenced To More Than 13 Years In Prison

A 46-year-old man was convicted after a trial in which evidence presented that he had monthly been distributing methamphetamine and heroin.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A federal judge in San Francisco sentenced a convicted drug dealer to more than 13 years in prison, according to an announcement Friday from U.S. Attorney Stephanie Hinds and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

Alejandro Alvarez, 46, of San Francisco, was convicted April 14 after a four day trial, during which evidence presented that he had monthly been distributing tens of thousands of dollars' worth of methamphetamine and heroin.

When San Francisco Police Department officers executed a search warrant at his residence, they recovered about 65 pounds of methamphetamine with a street retail value of more than $1.5 million, according to the announcement.

Following his 160-month prison term, his sentence includes a five-year period of supervised release.
