SF Man Who 'Viciously' Attacked Neighbor's Dog Convicted Of Animal Cruelty
The man yelled at the cowering dog before kicking her several times against a wall, prosecutors said.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man who prosecutors say "viciously" attacked his neighbor's dog in San Francisco in 2025 has been convicted in connection with the crime.
A jury convicted Aljerone Green, 33, of animal cruelty following a recent trial, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
"I would like to thank the jury for their service in this trial," District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said in a statement Tuesday. "I would also like to thank the dedicated officers of San Francisco Animal Care and Control, whose outstanding investigation resulted in us being able to take action to hold Mr. Green accountable. Violence against people, and defenseless little animals, will not be tolerated."

Prosecutors say Green's neighbor had left a Papillion mix, about the size of a Pomeranian, barking outside the hallway of their apartment complex along Mason Street on Sept. 18, 2025.
Surveillance footage captured Green opening his apartment door, staring down the dog for over a minute before going back inside, prosecutors said.

Green can be seen on the footage returning with a cutting board and throwing it at the dog, prosecutors said.
The 33-year-old then got near the dog, crouched and started yelling at her, prosecutors said.
The dog, cowering against his owner's door while being yelled at, tried to run away. But Green followed and continuously began to kick her, prosecutors said, including against a wall.
It's unclear whether the dog was injured during the attack and, if so, what kind of injuries she sustained, or why its owner had left it outside.
"Animals are voiceless victims who cannot advocate for themselves," Assistant District Attorney Michael Foley said. "I’d like to thank the jury for being the dog’s voice and bringing her justice. The jury made a just verdict and sent a clear message – animal cruelty is not tolerated in San Francisco."
