SF Police Seeks Public's Assistance In Locating Sexual Assault Suspect

Police in San Francisco are seeking help in finding man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco authorities were seeking the public's help in identifying a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Geneva Avenue and San Jose Avenue. Police said the suspect was 5 feet tall and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, dark shoes and a white stripe and white shoelaces. He was headed northbound on Cayuga Avenue, police said.

The woman was walking toward 1200 Cayuga Avenue when she was assaulted behind by the suspect. The suspect encountered the woman near Bannock Street and Seneca Avenue, about three blocks from where police responded.

Authorities said the man restricted a 20-year-old woman's breathing and covered her mouth. The man then reportedly forced her to the ground, the San Francisco Police Department said in a news release.
