SFPD Holds Toy Drive For Needy Kids

The holidays are approaching and police want them to be happy for everyone! There's also a GoFundMe account to donate cash for toys in SF.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department's 2016 Holiday Toy Drive kicked off Thursday.

Residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys in a marked toy bin at any Walgreens store in the city until Dec. 19.

The toys will be given to San Francisco children in need, according to police.

Officers hope to exceed the number of toys donated last year, which was about 2,500.

"Everyone can make a difference in a child's life," Interim police Chief Toney Chaplin said in a statement.

San Francisco Police Foundation established to buy toys for other underprivileged children.
