Soccer Coach Accused Of Child Sex Crimes: SF DA
A soccer coach has been charged with multiple felony counts of child sex crimes.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday that a 39-year-old man has been charged with multiple felony counts in connection with child molestation incidents involving two minors.
Carmelo Hernandez was scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Hall of Justice.
Prosecutors said they will seek to have Hernandez detained without bail pending trial, citing concerns for public safety.

Hernandez is charged with luring a child for the purpose of committing a lewd act, committing a lewd act on a child younger than 14, two counts of committing lewd acts upon a minor, and attempted possession of child sexual abuse material, according to prosecutors.
According to court records, the reported incidents occurred in November 2025 and January 2026 while Hernandez was coaching youth soccer.
