Solidaire Presents 'Take Back the Ball' Fundraising Event

All fundraiser proceeds will go to three NPOs to continue to encourage and uplift the community for the future.

From Solidaire: On the night of the Presidential Inaugural Ball, Solidaire, in partnership with Tides Foundation, Future Justice Fund, and Heising-Simon Foundation are inviting community members, activists, and other progressive donors to come celebrate the power of community, to stand up for the America they believe in, and to ground themselves in the courage they will need for the days ahead.

The event, an evening fundraiser dubbed “Take Back the Ball,” will feature DJ Biz Markie with the proceeds going to three rapid response funds:

  • The Fighter Fund for climate justice housed by the Solutions Project;
  • The Emergent Fund for communities of color on the front-lines created by the Women Donors Network and Solidaire; and,
  • The Groundswell Rapid Response Fund for reproductive justice housed by the Groundswell Fund.

These funds were created in response to the urgency of the current moment to support front-line organizations across the country.

Each fund will reach a group of highly effective organizations that are too small to get attention from most mainstream donors, but are doing some of the most important work. Particularly as we come into a time of many unknowns, it will be crucial for these organizations on the ground to have access to resources for unexpected events and circumstances.
