Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Woman In SF

He was taken into custody on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, police said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in San Francisco Tuesday night, police said.

Police say San Francisco resident Nation Wood shot and killed a woman in the 2200 block of 22nd Avenue just before 10:45 p.m.

It's unclear what relationship, if any, Wood and the woman had. A motive behind the shooting has yet to be disclosed.

Detectives, however, were able to develop enough probable cause to arrest Wood on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

No charges have been filed yet against Wood. But an involuntary manslaughter arrest means the killing was likely unintentional, and prosecutors would have to prove the defendant caused the death through reckless disregard for human life or gross negligence.
