Twitter Layoffs Begin By 9 AM Friday: Report
Workers will receive an email at either their work or personal email address — the choice will indicate whether they survived or are gone.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the workday begins in San Francisco on Friday, Twitter employees will learn if they still have a job or if they have been laid off by Elon Musk, who bought the company a week ago for about $44 billion, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The company’s workforce of 7,500 could be reduced by as much as half, Musk has threatened, in his contentious purchase of the social media company.
The Post reports that workers will receive an email with the subject line,"Your Role at Twitter." Employees being laid off will receive an email via their personal email address, while those being kept will be notified on their company email.

"Team, In an effort to place Twitter on a healthy path, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce on Friday," the email said. It concluded, "We are grateful for your contributions to Twitter and for your patience as we move through this process."
Bloomberg, meanwhile, reports that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Twitter over potential layoffs because the company did not issue appropriate notice according to law.
