Well Fargo To Triple-Match 'Giving Tuesday' SF Food Bank Donations

The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank serves up to 56,000 households a week.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A big bank is teaming up with the local food bank to add some extra oomph to “Giving Tuesday.”

Wells Fargo will triple-match donations made to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank on Tuesday, meaning that every dollar donated will provide enough food for six meals.
The Food Bank serves up to 56,000 households a week — a 12 percent increase compared to this time last year — at a time when inflation is creating additional challenges for those in need.

“With inflation hitting our lowest-income neighbors the hardest, the community could really use a boost right now,” the Food Bank said in a statement.

“A recent survey of participants for our Hunger Report showed that 72% of our participants haven’t recovered financially from the pandemic – inflation is just making matters worse.”
