Winning Cocktails For SF 49er Fans: A Patch Recipe Share
If you're cheering "Red & Gold" on Sunday, these signature sips are the perfect kickoff for Super Bowl 2020.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The kickoff for Super Bowl 2020 is Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time, as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Miami.
For those hosting parties and cheering on the California team, a signature drink may be in order.
California-based brandy maker Argonaut has shared with Patch two brandy-based cocktail recipes to add that "Red & Gold" flourish to Game Day festivities.

The "Gold Rush" features brandy, honey and lemon juice, while the "Red & Gold," crafted by John McCarthy for historic San Francisco saloon Elixir, blends brandy, a liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, club soda and bitters.

NOTE: While Argonaut brandy and Campari are listed in the recipes, any comparable brands may be substituted.

Gold Rush Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Argonaut Fat Thumb
- .75 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- .75 oz. Honey Syrup*
- *Honey Syrup - take two parts raw honey and 1 part warm water. Stir to combine
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake, and strain into rocks glass over fresh ice.

Red & Gold

Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Argonaut Speculator
- .5 oz Campari
- .5 oz Lemon Juice
- .25 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 dash Grapefruit Bitters
- 3 oz Club Soda
Method:
- Fill a tall glass with ice and give a quick stir to incorporate the ingredients. Then take a lemon wedge and squeeze it over the drink. Drop the lemon in the glass for garnish.
