Woman Who Perished In Sunset District Fire Identified

The Saturday night blaze was at 1806-1810 Eighth Ave. in San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO – A woman who died in a three-alarm fire Saturday night in San Francisco's Sunset District has been identified by the city's medical examiner's office as 64-year-old Jessica Summerville.

Summerville, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene following a blaze at 1806-1810 Eighth Ave. that started around 9:45 p.m.

About 100 firefighters responded to the scene and buildings in the area were evacuated. Firefighters were able to contain the fire by around 12:10 a.m. Sunday, fire officials said.

The fire displaced three people and the American Red Cross Bay Area is assisting them, according to fire officials.

A cause for the blaze remains under investigation, fire Lt. Jonathan Baxter said.
