World Cup Watch Parties In Civic Center Plaza

San Francisco is throwing 3 watch parties in July.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Soccer fans interested in gathering to watch World Cup matches will have three opportunities next month to attend free viewing parties in San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup started today in Russia and will continue through mid-July, and the semifinal matches on July 10 and July 11 and the final on July 15 will be shown on a big screen at the plaza next to City
Hall.

"Events such as these embrace who we are as a city and celebrate the diversity of San Franciscans," Mayor Mark Farrell said in a statement.

"Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and has the immeasurable power to bring people together globally, nationally and civically."

Along with the screenings, there will be soccer activities for children, a mobile rock climbing wall, lawn games and food trucks.

The events for the semifinal matches will start at 11 a.m. and the final event starts at 8 a.m.
