Local Entrepreneurs Expand Across the Bay Area with YogaSix San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA. (August 4, 2026) – YogaSix, a modern yoga studio offering a fresh take on one of the world’s oldest practices, is now open in San Jose, located at 130 Stockton Ave, Unit 120. The studio is owned and operated by local entrepreneurs Asia and Hector Plahar, who also own the Sunnyvale and Walnut Creek studios.

Asia Plahar, a California native, is a doctorly prepared registered nurse with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. Her husband, Hector Plahar, is a senior software engineer from Ghana. The couple were motivated to start their own business through shared experiences that combined their shared passion of health and wellness with business ownership. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Plahar's were first exposed to entrepreneurship through helping Asia's brother build his business, while around the same time, Asia had discovered the holistic benefits of yoga through practicing at another YogaSix studio. The Plahar’s opened their first studio, YogaSix Sunnyvale, later acquiring a YogaSix location in Walnut Creek, and most recently expanded with the opening of YogaSix San Jose.

“Yoga had such a positive impact in my own life that I wanted to share that experience with others”, said Asia Plahar. “We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel welcomed, whether they’re taking their first yoga class or have been practicing for years. We hope YogaSix San Jose becomes a place where neighbors can come together, improve their well-being, and feel empowered on their wellness journey.”

YogaSix San Jose features a spa-like environment with six signature class formats designed to make yoga accessible for all levels. Since opening, the studio has served as a neighborhood hub for wellness-minded individuals, and with themed classes and workshops, the studio continues to evolve as a space dedicated to movement, connection, and community impact.
