On January 31st 2026 the San Francisco branch members celebrated DEI Founder's Day with prayers and a DEI guest talk on organic farming.
On January 31 2026, members of the San Francisco Branch of the Dayalbagh Radhasoami Satsang Association of North America (DRSANA), celebrated DEI Founder's Day.
Education, more education, education made perfect is the only panacea for our country`s ills and evils. With more and real education I daresay we can easily raise the general level of intelligence of its teeming millions, create, in its future generations, the habit of clear and deep thinking and of appreciating new values that turn the acquisitive impulse of its people from its present direction to the direction of truth.
Revered Sir Anand Sarup Kt., August Founder of Dayalbagh
DEI offers innovative and comprehensive education at university and non-university levels which aims at excellence but not at the cost of the relevance. DEI's education aims to build a complete man, and educational activities focus on:
- Dignity of labour
- Multi-disciplinary work that encourages initiative and creativity
- Rooting students in agricultural moorings
- Impart basic values of humanism, secularism and democracy
Celebrations began with alumni members at the branch reciting DEI prayer.

A brief video on the life and achievement of Dr. M.B. Lal Sahab was played.
This was followed by a talk on organic farming by Mr. J. Rajasekhara Reddy. Mr Reddy is a Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Department of Agriculture cum Precision Farming, Dayalbagh as well as a Feed and Fodder Officer in Radhasoami Satsang Sabha Gaushala.
Mr. Reddy enlightened the branch members on the following topics:
- What are some organic ways to prevent crop and tree diseases?
- How do you increase crop yield and protect crops from external factors?
- How do you effectively setup a greenhouse?
- How do you efficiently and effectively make compost?
We learnt innovative agricultural methods such as the use of buttermilk for crop disease prevention, the proper use of inputs for increasing crop yield, effective sizes/shapes/locations for greenhouses, and the techniques for layering green and brown materials for compost preparation.
The San Francisco branch community members have a thriving community garden (see images below). Branch members do volunteer work on weekdays and weekends to collectively sow and harvest the community garden.

Overall it was a blessed day spent remembering Dr. M.B. Lal Sahab and the ultimate aim of education.
