Christmas Eve Candle Lighting Service Brings Light, Music, and Community to San José
As the holiday season reaches its brightest and most bustling moment, the Center for Spiritual Living San José is preparing to open its doors for one of its most cherished annual traditions: the Christmas Eve Candle lighting Service, happening on Wednesday, December 24, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at 1195 Clark Street. For many in the Willow Glen and greater San José community, this gathering has become a meaningful pause — a chance to step out of the rush, reconnect with loved ones, and experience a moment of peace during the most reflective time of the year.
A Celebration of Light, Hope, and Togetherness
This year’s service features an inspiring message from Rev. Nadene Rogers, whose teachings blend warmth, humor, and deep spiritual insight. Her Christmas Eve message will invite attendees to reflect on the light within themselves and the light we share with one another — a theme that resonates powerfully during the holiday season.
The evening also includes live music from Reece Whitaker and Rev. Michelle Jordan, two beloved Bay Area vocalists known for their soulful, heart-opening performances. Their music will guide the community through moments of joy, stillness, and celebration.

A Candlelit Moment of Peace
One of the most memorable parts of the evening is the candle lighting ritual itself. As the sanctuary lights dim and dozens of small flames begin to glow, the room fills with a sense of unity and quiet reverence. For longtime attendees, it’s a tradition that marks the true beginning of Christmas. For newcomers, it’s often an unexpectedly moving experience.
Open to All — Families, Friends, and First‑Time Visitors
The Center for Spiritual Living San José emphasizes inclusivity and welcomes people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions. Whether you’re attending with family, bringing a friend, or arriving solo, you’ll find a warm and welcoming community ready to greet you.
There is plenty of free parking, and the event is suitable for all ages.
