CSL San Jose Hosts Free Workshop on Transgender Awareness in Honor of World Pride Month
San Jose, CA – May 19, 2025 — In celebration of World Pride Month, the Center for Spiritual Living San Jose presents a free community workshop titled “Understanding TRANS IDENTITY,” facilitated by Sean Garcia, a transgender-identified mental health professional. The event will occur Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM, immediately following CSL San Jose’s Sunday service. This 90-minute interactive workshop is designed to provide foundational knowledge and empathetic insight into the transgender journey. Participants will learn respectful language, explore inclusive practices, and hear lived experiences that help support understanding and authentic allyship.
“At CSL San Jose, we are committed to creating a spiritual community that embraces all people,” said Rev. Dr. Nadene Rogers, Interim Spiritual Director. “This workshop is not just about awareness—it’s about deepening our compassion and becoming more conscious contributors to a world that works for everyone.”
Led by Sean Garcia, the session offers a safe, supportive environment for individuals to ask questions, explore their perceptions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about gender identity and inclusion.
