• Contra Costa Fire Urges Community to Prepare for Fire Season (contracosta.news) — San Pablo residents are being urged to clear weeds and create defensible space ahead of a June 1 wildfire abatement deadline for West County. Contra Costa Fire leaders outlined rising grass-fire risks, new helicopter and bulldozer resources, and stressed that homeowners must prepare homes, families, and evacuation plans now, including signing up for the county’s emergency alert system. 
• Wagner, Hammett, Foulger, Zuffa Win Antioch Speedway Main Events (contracosta.news) — A San Pablo driver, Maddie Motts, was among the competitors in a packed night of racing at Antioch Speedway that saw multiple yellow flags and tight battles for position. The event featured wins across several divisions, highlighted by Danny Wagner’s Sport Modified victory and Hunter Hammett’s late-charge Hobby Stock win, plus upcoming dates for more racing later in May.
