AUDITIONS for Marilyn Izdebski Production of RENT!

Auditions will be held at the Marilyn Izdebski Studio, 100 Shaw Dr., San Anselmo. Those auditioning are asked to attend both days and to sing any song from RENT or from any Broadway show.

The production is under the direction of Marilyn Izdebski with musical direction by Judy Wiesen.

RENT is an American musical based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera La Boheme. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of AIDS. The phenomenon of RENT, its timeliness coupled with its ground breaking theatricality, has been compared to the musical HAIR when it first appeared on Broadway in 1968.

Rehearsals are held at Redwood High School in Larkspur Monday through Friday from 1:30-5:30pm from June 16 through July 21. Performances are July 22, 23, 24 & 25.
