Marin Musical Theater Company presents Kiss Me Kate, July 21 - 24 at the Playhouse in San Anselmo. Kiss Me Kate is a play-within-a-play about a theater troupe performing Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. The show is as fresh, funny and entertaining as it was when it opened on Broadway nearly 70 years ago.
MMTC’s production is an ambitious undertaking of complex music, choreography and zany plotlines – all underlined by a love story – onstage and backstage. Cole Porter put his own stamp on Shakespeare’s humor with a blend of hot jazz and slow ballads including Too Darn Hot and So in Love.
