Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Head-On Crash

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI on Sunday morning after a head-on collision on state Highway 1 north of Bolinas that left one vehicle off the roadway and down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at 7:32 a.m. just south of Five Brooks Road, according to the CHP.

Two people have been extricated from vehicles and transported to a hospital for medical treatment, according to Officer Andrew Barclay.
The crash was originally reported as a major injury accident, but it was later downgraded to a minor injury collision, Barclay said.

The victims were conscious, breathing and alert at the time of the rescue, according Barclay, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
