The collision killed Ricardo De Santiago, 18, of Marshall, a passenger in Lucas McFadden's Honda Prelude.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The California Highway Patrol has identified the driver who was arrested after a fatal head-on collision with a big-rig Monday afternoon in Marshall as Lucas McFadden, 23, a resident of Petaluma or Tomales.
The collision killed Ricardo De Santiago, 18, of Marshall, a passenger in McFadden's Honda Prelude.
McFadden suffered major injuries and was flown to a hospital. He was allegedly impaired at the time of the collision and was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of DUI, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The collision was reported at 4:38 p.m. in the area of 18863 Shoreline Highway. The Prelude collided with a northbound Peterbilt dump truck-trailer that was towing a small excavator, Barclay said.
McFadden allowed the Honda to drift off the right side of the road on a left curve, Barclay said. He then tried to turn back into the lane and crossed the center of the road into the path of the big-rig, Barclay said.

De Santiago was extricated from the vehicle at the scene and was pronounced dead by Marin County sheriff's deputies around 5 p.m.
The 54-year-old driver of the big-rig was not impaired or injured, Barclay said.
The collision closed Shoreline Highway until around 9:30 p.m.
De Santiago's Facebook page indicated that he went to Tomales High School. A GoFundMe page set up Tuesday on behalf of his family had already raised more than $20,400 as of this morning for funeral expenses and other costs.
